Spurs kept their top four hopes alive with a 5-1 win against Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Monday. They sit five points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, while Everton are four points ahead of Spurs but have a game in hand on both.

Eriksen, 22, signed for Spurs from Ajax last summer and after initially struggling to make an impact he has scored four goals in his last six appearances in all competitions including the third in Monday's rout.

Despite Spurs' struggles in the Premier League this campaign, Eriksen is hopeful the club can kick on next season.

"For me the feeling I have at the club isn't dependent on being in the Champions League, I'm happy here and am looking forward to the future," Eriksen told the Daily Mirror.

"Our aim now is to win all our matches so that we end the season with some confidence ahead of next year and if we do that we can see where it takes us in the table."
