Daniel Agger has handed Liverpool a boost by pledging his future to the Anfield club.

Liverpool are in a state of flux, following the departure of Rafael Benitez, and there has been talk that a number of star names could depart. Agger is one player who has been linked with a departure, but the Dane is not intending to jump ship.

"I have no thoughts about leaving Liverpool," Agger said. "I have a four-year contract, I intend to stay and I want to stay, no matter who the manager is.

"Of course, I hope it's a manager who believes in me. I have to show what I can do, I know that. I like Liverpool as a club, I like Liverpool as a city, I have no reason to leave.

"And I think my team-mates feel the same way. Everybody knows that Liverpool is a big club, a great club. From the inside, I can tell you it's a great club."
