Moyes: Stars keen to come to United

David Moyes insists several of Manchester United's high-profile summer targets are "keen to come" to Old Trafford despite the club looking set to be unable to offer Champions League football next season.

United exited the competition at the quarter-final stage on Wednesday night after suffering a 3-1 loss at Bayern Munich, having drawn the first leg 1-1 at Old Trafford last week.

While not mathematically impossible, it would take a remarkable series of results for United to finish in the top four of the Premier League, as they currently sit seven points behind fourth-placed Arsenal with five matches remaining.

Moyes is optimistic about United's future despite the probable setback, and is sure they will bolster in the summer and come back stronger for the 2014-15 season.

"We've not got Champions League football, that's the way it looks, but hopefully it won't be far away," he said on Sky Sports. "Hopefully it will be just one year the way we are going to rebuild.

"The club are looking to spend the right money on the right players if they are available and it has nothing to do with Champions League football.

"Any player we have quietly discussed with are more than happy to join Manchester United. The ones who someone might have quietly had a word in their ears, they have all been keen to come. They know this is a short thing, not a long thing and they are all happy to join such a great club.

"Our focus now is getting a team that makes sure we are back in this competition because it's a great competition, we have really enjoyed it. There is no shame in going out of the quarter-finals to Bayern Munich because they are a good side. It shows the qualities we have got.

"We will regroup and start building towards being back in the competition again. My job is just to get on and do the job. I've found everyone at the club very good. Again, my focus is having a side that gets us back into the Champions League. That is my focus now."

The Daily Mirror report that United's executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, will remain in Germany in an attempt to reach a deal for Bayern's Toni Kroos -- although on Tuesday the player's agent insisted he will be remaining at the Allianz Arena.
