ESPN FC: Can Manchester City burst Liverpool's bubble?

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted Sunday's game at Liverpool is not a title decider.

Both teams have their destiny in their own hands with Brendan Rodgers' side, who have won their last nine league games, four points ahead of their visitors and Pellegrini's side, who have two matches in hand, knowing that if they win their remaining seven fixtures, they will be champions.

But the Chilean, whose team then host Sunderland on Wednesday, insisted that the league will not be determined by victory at Anfield.

"I don't think this decides the title," he said at his pre-match press conference. "It is a very important game but it will not decide everything."

And Pellegrini has vowed not to play for a point, adding: "We are not going to play at Anfield trying to draw. That is the most important thing.

"It is very important to win at Liverpool, but I don't think by winning at Liverpool that we win the Premier League.

"We can beat Liverpool and after if we lose against Sunderland we are not going to win the title. Sunderland is in a relegated position and those teams are as difficult as Liverpool."

Pellegrini has been boosted by the return of Sergio Aguero to full-time training.
