Pellegrini: Keep calm and carry on

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was forced to limp out of training on Saturday, according to the Manchester Evening News, but sources at the club are confident that he will play in tomorrow's crunch clash with Liverpool.

Kompany's absence would be a massive blow for City ahead of a game considered vital for the destination of the Premier League title.

He landed heavily after leaping for a header and had to be helped from the pitch by his team-mates. However, sources at the club have told ESPN that Kompany had been taken out of training only as a "precaution" and will still travel with the team to Anfield.

Joleon Lescott is ready to step in, should Kompany fail to recover in time, as fellow centre-back Matija Nastasic is also out.
