Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany will start against Liverpool at Anfield in the massive Premier Leaue encounter after overcoming injury fears.

Kompany limped out of training on Saturday after landing heavily having challenged for a header. Club sources told ESPN they were confident the Belgian defender would be able to start the match, however.

Sergio Aguero returns to the bench for CIty and could make his first appearance since himself limping out of the Champions League last 16 second leg against Barcelona in the Nou Camp on March 12.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers names an unchanged team from that which beat West Ham United 2-1 at Upton Park last Sunday.

Manchester City go into the match unbeaten in their last 10 away league games and having suffered only one defeat at all in their last 20 outings in the Premier League. Liverpool carry a nine-game winning streak, so something has to give. Liverpool lead City by four points in the Premier League table, but City have two games in hand.
