Welbeck considering United future

Danny Welbeck is considering his future at Manchester United, according to a report in the Sun.

Welbeck has two years left on his current contract at Old Trafford, but the striker is thought to be getting frustrated with a lack of playing time under new manager David Moyes.

The newspaper quotes a club insider as saying: "Danny can't understand why the boss has failed to use him in an attacking capacity more often. Those around him think he has become a 'victim' of the new regime."

United have suffered a disappointing first season under Moyes and, along with relinquishing their Premier League crown, look set to miss out on Champions League football for the first time in 19 years.

Welbeck has played second fiddle to both Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie up front this season, but showcased his credentials with five goals in five league games when Moyes' preferred two were sidelined with injury earlier this campaign.

However, with Moyes keen to utilise a £200 million warchest in order to bolster his squad, Welbeck could fall further down the pecking order should his manager invest in his frontline.

The 23-year-old's situation is the latest blow to United's dismal season, after coach Phil Neville stated the club had failed and that he could not even look at the league table.
