Fernando Torres will start against his former club as he leads the line for Chelsea at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday.

The striker has suffered a fair share of criticism from manager Jose Mourinho recently, but will get the opportunity to prove the Portuguese wrong at the Vicente Calderon.

Eden Hazard has not made the squad despite travelling, while Petr Cech returns after missing the club's loss against Sunderland through illness. Ashley Cole also returns at left back in his first start for the club since January.

Oscar, Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba all have to settle for a place on the bench.

The home side have named on-loan goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in their starting line-up while Diego Costa, the striker highly tipped to join Chelsea in the summer, leads Diego Simeone's attack.
