Van Gaal closing in on United job
Louis van Gaal is primed to become Manchester United's new manager, despite the club denying a deal for the Dutchman had been agreed.
On Saturday, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported the 62-year-old had reached an agreement to replace the sacked David Moyes, but United said in a statement: "We have not signed a new manager. When we have something to report, we will announce it."

However, The Sun reports Van Gaal has struck a four-year contract worth £40 million, with current interim manager Ryan Giggs set to remain as one of his assistants.
Van Gaal, who will leave his post as Netherlands manager after the World Cup, is expected to bring his assistant Patrick Kluivert with him to Old Trafford.
The Sun quoted Van Gaal while he was on holiday in Portugal as saying: "Am I young enough for the job. I think you can see that in my CV."
Kluivert, who played under Van Gaal at Ajax, Barcelona and the national team, revealed to talkSPORT he would have no hesitation in following him to United.
"Louis would be absolutely the first pick of any club," the former striker said. "I love working with him. If he asks me to join him I'd be honoured."
Giggs enjoyed a 4-0 win over Norwich City in his first of four games in charge as interim manager, with the Welshman admitting he had a sleepless night as he considered his team selection.
