Keane would 'probably not' speak to Ferguson

Roy Keane admits he would "probably not" speak to Sir Alex Ferguson again as he ruled out the possibility of a return to Manchester United.

Keane, who is currently an assistant to Martin O'Neill with the Republic of Ireland, has been linked with a role at United as Louis van Gaal's No.2 if the Dutchman is appointed as the replacement for the sacked David Moyes.

"Not sure, probably not but I've said that about other people," Keane said when asked by Irish radio station Today FM whether he would speak to his former manager.

Keane left United in November 2005 following a fallout with Ferguson, team-mates and staff at Old Trafford. Keane also hit out at his fellow players in an interview with MUTV which was deemed too damning to be aired.

Ferguson reignited his feud with Keane by criticising him in his autobiography, branding his former captain a bully in the dressing room.

But on possible return to Old Trafford, Keane was quick to play down the speculation, saying: "People keep asking me about other jobs, I've got a job and I'm very happy with my job."

Keane was critical of Moyes' sacking as he believed the Scot should have been given more time, blaming the players for the dismissal, but refused to comment further on the current situation.

"Whatever is going on at certain clubs is really none of my business," Keane said.

"I've been a manager before, I look at David Moyes and I don't like what happened to him. But regarding other issues, it is none of my business and it doesn't keep me awake at night."
