Moyes blamed for Fellaini struggles
Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is to blame for Marouane Fellaini's struggles since his move from Everton, according to Belgium coach Marc Wilmots.
Fellaini has failed to impress at United since making becoming Moyes' £27.5 million big-name signing last summer, but Wilmots believes the 26-year-old has not been helped by the way he has been used as a defensive midfielder at Old Trafford.
"I don't understand why Manchester United bought him to play him in a system of two number sixes. Marouane is a box-to-box player," Wilmots told Het Laatste Nieuws.
Fellaini is yet to score for United in 20 appearances and was left out of the squad by interim manager Ryan Giggs in the 4-0 win over Norwich City.
Despite a difficult debut season for United, Wilmots has backed Fellaini to show his true colours for Belgium when they make their first appearance at the World Cup in 12 years this summer in Brazil.
"I have no doubts about Marouane [for the World Cup]," Wilmots said. "The World Cup is a good chance for him to take revenge."
