Fellaini reveals sadness at Moyes' departure

Marouane Fellaini has revealed he was "sad" to see manager David Moyes leave Manchester United.

Moyes parted company with United last month, having overseen just 52 matches at Old Trafford since succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson.

Fellaini was Moyes' only major summer signing last year, with the midfielder arriving from Moyes' former club Everton for £27.5 million, but has failed to impress, with Belgium manager Marc Wilmots blaming Moyes for the midfielder's dowturn in form.

And Fellaini, who was left out of interim boss Ryan Giggs' squad for the 4-0 win over Norwich, was disappointed to see the Scot depart.

Fellaini told MUTV: "It was a hard week because I was close with the manager.

"I was sad, but that's football. Results are the most important thing in football so the club decided to make the choice.

"Now we have a new manager and we are looking forward. We have three more games left in the season and we want to finish strong."
