Inter eye move for Chelsea's Torres
Inter Milan have confirmed they will make a move for Fernando Torres this summer if the Chelsea striker wants to join them.
Chelsea are believed to be ready to offload Torres, with the striker who cost them a British-record £50 million having scored just 45 goals since joining them in 2011.
Inter director Piero Ausilio travelled to watch Torres play in Chelsea's Champions League knockout ties against Galatasaray and Atletico Madrid.
"Yes, he is a player we're following," Ausilio said. "Torres's career speaks for itself - the titles he has won and the teams in which he has played.
"It's all about whether he has the right motivation and the desire to be part of a new ambitious project."
Torres still has two years remaining on his £175,000-a-week contract but Inter are keen on a loan deal this summer, for which Chelsea would have to pay some of his wages, with a view to a permanent £10m move next year.
Inter, currently fifth in Serie A and 39 points behind champions Juventus, are looking to strengthen for next season and have already signed Nemanja Vidic with the Manchester United defender's contract up at the end of the season.
