Rodgers considers move for Caulker
Brendan Rodgers is weighing up a summer move for Cardiff's Steven Caulker as he looks to find the answer for Liverpool's defensive problems ahead of next season.
Caulker is among several potential transfer targets identified by Rodgers and his recruitment team, sources have told ESPN.
The 22-year-old only moved to Cardiff from Tottenham last July for £8 million, but is expected to leave the Welsh side after their relegation to the Championship.

Caulker has played for Rodgers before at Swansea, where he spent the 2011-12 season on loan from Spurs.
Liverpool are also set to seal a £20m move for Adam Lallana this week, despite the Southampton captain stating in his club's match programme ahead of Sunday's 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United that he could stay at St Mary's Stadium.
However, Rodgers said on Friday that his priority next season was to improve Liverpool's defensive record away from home.
Apart from the three relegated teams, only Stoke and Sunderland conceded more than the 32 Premier League goals that Liverpool let in on their travels this season.
Liverpool also had the division's eighth-best defensive record overall, despite finishing second, with 50 league goals conceded in total - 13 more than champions Manchester City.
Following Jamie Carragher's retirement at the end of last season, Rodgers failed to settle on a first-choice central defensive partner for Martin Skrtel this campaign, with vice-captain Daniel Agger making only 20 Premier League appearances.
Rodgers had also identified the position as a priority last summer, plundering the summer transfer window for three central defenders.
Mamadou Sakho, an £18m capture from Paris Saint-Germain, made just 18 league outings, while Kolo Toure, signed on a free from Manchester City, had 20 appearances.
Tiago Ilori, 21, failed to play a single game following his move from Sporting Lisbon and was sent on loan to La Liga with Granada in January.
Carragher had hit out at Liverpool's defending in the 3-3 draw at Crystal Palace last week, after they threw away a three-goal lead.
"You can't feel sorry for Liverpool in this situation because the standard of their defending is not acceptable," stated Carragher, who hung up his boots last summer after 508 Premier League appearances for Liverpool.
