Luis Suarez insists his future is at Liverpool and says there is no clause in his contract which gives Barcelona and Real Madrid priority over bidding for him in the summer.

The 27-year-old signed a new four-and-a-half year contract last December, but the striker continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield as some reports have suggested there is a clause in the deal for a transfer to either of the La Liga giants if they table a certain amount.

Suarez, however, has denied the existence of any such option. "As far as I'm aware there is no clause that suggests a priority for any team," he said.

When asked about the interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona, Suarez added: "I don't want to answer that. I try to avoid press speculation. I know what I want and what my agent says is good for me, but I don't want to comment on speculation."

Suarez also lamented Liverpool's stumble in the title race, pinpointing a 2-0 loss to Chelsea as the moment their title challenge began to fade.

"The negative point of the season is that we had the league title so close," said Suarez, in reference to Liverpool needing seven points from their final three matches to be champions, but taking just four.

"When we started the season our target was to finish in the top four. We finished second in the Premier [League] and that is amazing for Liverpool after not finishing in the top four [in recent seasons] and now we are back in the Champions League.

"I think what we were lacking was that in that key game against Chelsea, we weren't unlucky, we just weren't concentrating enough when they scored after not doing much. We then lacked the focus to create chances to level."
