Mourinho leads Van Gaal praise

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has led the praise for new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
Mourinho worked under the Dutchman, who was appointed as David Moyes' successor on Monday, at Barcelona from 1997 to 2000.
"He is a great football manager and I am happy he joins me in the Premier League," Mourinho said. "More important than that, he is a great man and I wish him good."
Wayne Rooney was one of a number of players who took to Twitter to welcome the new manager.
Great to see Louis Van Gaal has been named @ManUtd manager. Looking forward to working with him

Rio Ferdinand, who last week revealed he will leave United at the end of the season, posted:
Good luck to Louis Van Gaal as the new manager of @ManUtd also to Giggsy as no.2. Hope they get #mufc back to the top where we belong.

Fantastic. Louis van Gaal the new manager of MU. Good choice to see Ryan as his assistant.

Louis Van Gaal it is. Whoever would have thought? Good appointment though. Huge personality was needed to shake up MUFC. Just the man!

Giggs, who announced his retirement from football and will take up a position as Van Gaal's No.2, was also lauded across social networking sites.
Congratulations also to Ryan Giggs on a special career and becoming assistant manager, I'm sure he will do a great job

Ryan Giggs retires today....so many gold medals he puts B.A. Baracus to shame! No player adapted their game as well & as effective as Giggsy

Ryan Giggs has retired. Remarkable career by a loyal, legendary @ManUtd entertainer. 963 games. 34 trophies. 1 club. pic.twitter.com/toK65EPfWT
