Chelsea made an enquiry about signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi while ironing out the details of David Luiz's summer switch to the Parc des Princes, according to reports.

A fee of around £50 million has been agreed for defender Luiz, who is expected to join the Ligue 1 champions once personal terms negotiations and a medical have been compled, but Chelsea are thought to be keen on securing the services of Argentine Lavezzi.

The Telegraph claims that, while the French giants want to extend Lavezzi's stay in Paris, the 29-year-old could be used as a bargaining tool in their pursuit of Chelsea star Eden Hazard. The club has been monitoring the progress of the Belgian, as well as Brazilian Oscar, for some time.

Jose Mourinho, who has reportedly asked Demba Ba to stay at Stamford Bridge, is keen to add more goals to his side as he targets a Premier League and European push next season and would consider a move for Lavezzi, who has two years left on his current contract.

Now that the Champions League final has passed, Mourinho is thought to be confident of agreeing a £32m deal for Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa as Chelsea's summer shake-up continues.
