Moyes: I'm good enough for the Champions League

David Moyes claims he has proved himself capable of managing a team in the Champions League and is waiting for a top-level job after rejecting two offers.

Moyes was dismissed as Manchester United manager in April after only 10 months at Old Trafford. He was replaced by interim manager Ryan Giggs, who is now the assistant to new boss Louis van Gaal.

"I have had a couple of opportunities to go back in and chosen not to do anything just now," said Moyes, who was in Miami to watch England's 2-2 friendly against Ecuador on Wednesday.

"I would like to think I proved myself over the 11-year period at Everton and what I am capable of, and the level at which I want to manage."

Moyes lost the support of the owners, the Glazer family, despite being hand-picked by Sir Alex Ferguson to succeed him before signing a six-year contract last summer.

United finished empty handed and slumped to seventh in the Premier League, but their best displays under Moyes came in the Champions League, in which they made the quarter-finals before being knocked out by Bayern Munich.

And Moyes wants to manage in Europe's premier club competition again, hinting he may go to another country in order to do so.

"I got my real first taste of the Champions League this year and I thought I showed I can manage at that level," he said.

"I would like somewhere that would give me a chance of being in the Champions League or a club that has ambitions of being in the Champions League.

"It could be at home or abroad. I have always liked the thought of broadening my horizons and learning a bit more and at the moment I am quite comfortable watching and learning. I will go away and learn and look again to see what is happening.

"I will use United as an important experience in my managerial career. I feel I needed more time but I will use it to benefit me and help me in the coming jobs."
