Chelsea close in on Diego Costa deal

Romelu Lukaku says he wants to leave Chelsea this summer and hopes that a good performance for Belgium at the World Cup will impress potential suitors.

Lukaku, 21, moved to Stamford Bridge from Anderlecht in 2011 for £20 million, but has struggled to make an impact on the first-team despite prolific loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

The striker netted 15 Premier League goals at Goodison Park this season, but it appears Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is not keen to throw him into action yet with the arrival of £32m Atletico Madrid hitman Diego Costa expected in the coming days.

Mourinho has been critical of his strikeforce - Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba - this season with big changes expected, but Lukaku is not going to play second fiddle to anyone.

"You know Chelsea, every year they buy a new top striker," he told reporters. "I remember coming into the dressing room last year and seeing Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba and going, 'Woah! What's happening here?'

"But no problem. Many clubs are interested in me. At this stage, I have to look to myself. I have to play a good World Cup. That's very interesting for all the players looking for a transfer. And I must be one of them.

"Chelsea know my point of view."
