Frank Lampard has confirmed he has no intention of quitting international football following England's shameful departure from the 2010 World Cup.

Lampard was one of England's brightest players in the 4-1 defeat at the hands of Germany, a game that saw the Chelsea midfielder have a perfectly good goal overlooked before he later rattled the bar from 30 yards. However, like the majority of his team-mates, the midfielder flattered to deceive throughout the group stages.

As the fall-out from England's campaign begins, Lampard's place in the side will inevitably be questioned after he yet again failed to transform his formidable Chelsea form to the international stage. With 20 goals in 82 internationals, Lampard will be 36 by the time the next World Cup arrives, but he is not about to turn his back on his country.

"I want to carry on with England. I think there will be a lot of talking, not just about me," he stated. "It's important players go away and don't listen to it and concentrate on our jobs now.

"The talk is great for the people who are involved in that sort of thing but it doesn't actually make any difference. We'll try and carry on, that's what we have to do. Only one team wins the World Cup and the rest go home at some stage and don't win it so the talking is by the by.

"We'll have to come back and try and perform."
