Kroos insists Germany won't be complacent

Toni Kroos has yet to sign a new contract at Bayern Munich despite fresh deals being given to fellow Germany internationals Thomas Mueller and Philipp Lahm.

Kroos, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, is understood to have turned down Bayern's first offer. The midfielder is thought to have made his own terms demand but there is no sign of a compromise.

Mueller signed a contract which keeps him at the club until 2019 last week, while Lahm, 30, has committed the rest of his playing days to the German champions after agreeing a deal to 2018.

"There's nothing new to report," Kroos said. "With respect to the time before the World Cup, nothing at all has changed.

"If anything does happen, then you will all find out. Congratulations to Philipp and Thomas for their decisions and extensions."

Kroos had been a target for former Manchester United manager David Moyes, but new boss Louis van Gaal last month ended the club's interest in the 24-year-old.

United had their fingers burned in last year's summer transfer window, when deals for midfielders such as Cesc Fabregas and Sami Khedira collapsed after weeks of speculation, and Van Gaal has opted to steer clear of any dispute between Kroos and Bayern.

But with only one year left on Kroos' current deal, Bayern might still opt to sell the player this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season.
