Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to sign Newcastle's Mathieu Debuchy as a replacement for Bacary Sagna - and is set to renew his interest in Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy.

Sagna joined Manchester City after spending seven years at Arsenal - and Wenger sees France international Debuchy as the ideal player to fill the void at the Emirates, according to the Daily Mirror.

Debuchy recently admitted to missing playing in the Champions League as he took part in the competition for Lille before moving to Newcastle in 2013.

Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring Debuchy, but it is believed that Arsenal have already made an enquiry about the availability of the 28-year-old and could make an £8 million bid.

Wenger is also reportedly to be lining up a deal to bring Remy to Arsenal from QPR.

Remy scored 14 goals while on loan at Newcastle last season and has been strongly linked with Arsenal, who have made signing a striker one of their priorities as the FA Cup winners look to provide support and back-up for Olivier Giroud.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp revealed last month that it would be difficult to keep hold of Remy amid interest from Arsenal and because of Remy's determination to play in the Champions League and a release clause in his contract.
