UPDATE ON FRIDAY JULY 11: Luis Suarez joins Barcelona on five-year deal

Luis Suarez's £75 million move from Liverpool to Barcelona is reportedly being held up by the striker's appeal against his four-month ban.

FIFA have yet to arrange a date for the Uruguayan Football Association's hearing as they attempt to reduce Suarez's worldwide suspension from all footballing activity - which will take in eight more international matches.

The final details of the transfer are said to have been agreed but it won't be pushed through until the appeal has been heard, which will likely happen this week.

Suarez is still expected to be presented by Barcelona in the next few days, according to the Daily Telegraph, with the schedule of payments the only other factor delaying the deal.

Brendan Rodgers has already been busy preparing for Suarez's departure with Lazar Markovic set to have a medical later this week as Liverpool close in on their fourth summer signing.

They should secure the £20 million deal for the Benfica winger within the next few days, sources have told ESPN.

Markovic will join Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Emre Can as the latest new arrival on Merseyside.

Swansea left-back Ben Davies has also emerged as a £10m target for Liverpool while Belgium's teenage striker Divock Origi was at Anfield for talks yesterday - though both players are also wanted by Tottenham.
