Jovetic not for sale, City tell Inter
Stevan Jovetic will not be leaving Manchester City after Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio revealed they have been told the striker is not for sale.
Reports in Italy had linked the 24-year-old with a move to the San Siro after he had struggled for game time at the Premier League champions.
But Ausilio, speaking to Sky Italia from Inter's pre-season training camp, said: "To be completely honest with you, we did contact Man City and they told us he's not for sale."
However, he hinted that Inter could try again and that there was still time for the situation to develop, adding: "The transfer window shuts on September 2 this year."
Jovetic, who cost City £22 million last summer, spent much of his debut season in England on the sidelines and was often fourth-choice striker behind Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Alvaro Negredo.
