Mikel Arteta has revealed he is happy to stay at Arsenal after holding talks with manager Arsene Wenger.

Arteta, 32, has been linked with a move away from the Gunners this summer, although this week his agent denied an exit is in the offing.

The Spanish midfielder has spoken with manager Arsene Wenger and is eager to remain at the club, who he joined from Everton in 2011.

"I can't stop the rumours," he said.

"But what I am certain is that I'm really happy here, I feel valued, I have been given a lot of responsibility and I like it.

"Until they think something different about me, I'm happy. I had a conversation with the manager. He knows my opinion and we're fine."

Arteta, Arsenal's current vice-captain, has made nearly 100 league appearances for the club.
