Rosell issues warning over Fabregas

New Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has suggested they are ready to walk away from the deal to sign Cesc Fabregas if Arsenal do not lower their demands.

Barca have already seen a €35 million offer for the midfielder rejected and, with few signs of progress, Fabregas has now suggested he could be ready to stay at Emirates Stadium.

"We have to recognise that it's under negotiation, and we will continue negotiating, but we aren't going to go crazy," Rosell said. "We won't pay anything other than the right price. If Arsenal want to talk to us we will talk, but we'll never pay a price that we believe is unfair."

Barca manager Pep Guardiola earlier said: "It's not my business. It's not my job. I'm sorry. He's a player for Arsenal, so Arsene Wenger has the say. You have to ask them."

Rosell confirmed that the 2009-10 accounts would be subjected to an audit and said that he is concerned about the increasing debt at the club.

"There has been a considerable increase, as we sensed, and we need to employ due diligence," he said. "We want to see what potential savings the auditors can come up with."
