Arsenal about to close Debuchy deal
Mathieu Debuchy's move from Newcastle to Arsenal is set to be confirmed "imminently", sources have told ESPN.
France full-back Debuchy has already given strong indications that he will join Arsenal this summer, with the club eager to push the deal through quickly as they look to replace Bacary Sagna, who joined Manchester City last month.
Is Podolski the German John Terry?
- He didn't play too much at the World Cup but Arsenal's Lukas Podolski certainly celebrated Germany's triumph at the Maracana as if he had. Can his antics be compared to those of Chelsea's John Terry in the Champions League?

However, Newcastle were unwilling to sign off on the Debuchy transfer until they had a replacement confirmed, with manager Alan Pardew keen to avoid previous scenarios when he has given the green light to transfers and then saw deals for his intended replacements fall through.
The imminent arrival of Feyenoord and Netherlands full-back Daryl Janmaat means Newcastle will now allow Debuchy to leave for Arsenal, with the 28-year-old having already agreed personal terms with the side.
Debuchy will join Alexis Sanchez as the second high profile signing of the summer, with Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis telling supporters last week that he is working on several transfers ahead of the new Premier League season.
