Chelsea have completed the signing of left-back Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid.

The 28 year old has joined the club on a three-year deal for £20 million. The Brazilian will also wear the No.5 shirt and becomes the second player from Atletico to sign for Chelsea this week - following the £32m arrival of Diego Costa on Tuesday.

"This move is a dream come true for me. I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League," Luis told Chelsea's official website.

'I'm very happy and looking forward to getting started and giving my best for the team during the coming seasons."

Chelsea announced they had reached an agreement for Luis on Wednesday. Luis joined Atletico from Deportivo La Coruna in 2010 and went on to enjoy impressive success with the club, lifting the Liga title last season and helping his side reach the Champions League final.

He also won the Europa League with Atletico in 2012, setting up a UEFA Super Cup meeting with Chelsea, which saw the Spanish side triumph 4-1.

Luis also helped Brazil win the Confederations Cup in 2013 but was not named in the 23-man squad for this summer's World Cup.

He will join former Atletico team-mate Costa at Chelsea, who have also recalled Thibaut Courtois from loan at the club and have signed Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.
