Wilfried Zaha is determined to prove his worth at Manchester United and insists there is now a "nice vibe" at the club following the arrival of Louis van Gaal.

Zaha struggled to make an impact under Van Gaal's predecessor David Moyes and was loaned out to Cardiff for the latter part of last season. On his return, Zaha took a swipe at Moyes and insisted he was not given a fair chance at Old Trafford.

As a result, the attacker's future at the club has been far from certain and, with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward confirming he expects several players to depart the club, Zaha wants to make sure he is not one of them.

"It's great to be back," Zaha told ManUtd.com. "There's a nice vibe, everybody's working hard and we're looking forward to the new season.

"Going to Cardiff was a really good experience for me. I managed to get quite a few games under my belt at Premier League level, which was good, and I feel like I've come back a better player.

"I've realised there are things about my game I need to work on and concentrate on and I know this is the best place to be if I want to improve. I really want to make myself a better player."

Sir Alex Ferguson signed Zaha for £15 million from Crystal Palace in January 2013. However, despite impressing on the club's pre-season tour that summer, Zaha only featured in four games under Moyes before his loan move to Cardiff.
