Carl Jenkinson has been reminded of his responsibilities by Arsenal with his mooted loan move to West Ham set to go through in the next 24 hours.

The defender, who is available after Arsene Wenger signed Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle and Calum Chambers from Southampton, reportedly upset the club by orchestrating an anti-Tottenham chant in America.

Jenkinson, a lifelong Arsenal fan, was, according to The Sun, heard to shout: "What do you think of Tottenham?" to which the New Jersey based crowd responded "Shit!" before reversing the question as he mimicked a fans' chant.

A move away from Arsenal had already appeared likely and West Ham manager Sam Allardyce confirmed on Wednesday that a loan deal is in place.

"I'm hoping it's going to be completed in the next 24 hours," Allardyce told talkSPORT. "We're hoping that's going to be OK."
