Mourinho doubts Lukaku motivation

Jose Mourinho says Fernando Torres will not be sold this summer, despite the Chelsea striker being linked with a return to Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho told Sky Sports News he is happy with his attacking options ahead of the new season. Chelsea have overhauled their strike force this summer with Diego Costa and Didier Drogba replacing Romelu Lukaku, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba, who have all departed.

Mourinho said: "Three strikers is fundamental in the squad and we have three strikers. Fernando is not for sale."

Mourinho has added Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis to his squad as well as Costa and Drogba this summer, and claims to be content with the mix of players at his disposal.

"We are so happy with the squad we have," Mourinho said. "We feel that the correct squad is exactly this type of squad we have, with people like Didier and John Terry, but at the same time people like [Andreas] Christensen and [Nathan] Ake.

"We have the squad we want and, I repeat, the club was fantastic in the way they worked so hard and so fast to get Diego, Filipe and Fabregas."

Sources have told ESPN that Chelsea are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, which could further marginalise Torres, who joined from Liverpool in January 2011 for £50 million fee.

It was also claimed that Atletico were in talks with Chelsea about re-signing the striker.
