West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison has been released on bail after he was arrested on claims of common assault against two women.

England under-21 international Morrison was bailed on Monday after originally having his request refused.

Morrison, 21, is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday, and his future at West Ham could be in question if he is found guilty.

The same court had rejected an application for bail last Thursday after Morrison was alleged to have assaulted ex-girlfriend Reah Mansoor, 19, and her mother Parveen Mansoor, 39, in the early hours of Sunday, July 27.

He was arrested on the following Wednesday and appeared in court the next day.

District Judge James Prowse refused a bail application made by Morrison's solicitor, Ros Emsley-Smith. The defendant, who did not enter a plea, was remanded into custody until August 7.

Bail was granted by Judge Michael Henshall following the private hearing on Monday. His bail conditions were not given by the court following a request from the press.
