Tottenham are reportedly on the trail of £15 million-rated Netherlands winger Memphis Depay.

Mauricio Pochettino is weighing up a move for PSV Eindhoven's Depay, according to the Guardian, after the 20 year old played a starring role from the bench as Louis van Gaal's Dutch national side reached the semi-finals of the World Cup.

However, Pochettino faces a battle to secure his signature after PSV technical director Marcel Brands indicated the player was not for sale and that no bid had been received for the attacker.

Depay scored in the Netherlands' group-stage wins against Australia and Chile after coming on as a substitute, and started the quarter-final against Costa Rica.

With interest in his player growing, PSV manager Phillip Cocu has told Depay he would benefit from staying at the club for another season.

Depay is contracted to PSV until 2017 but earns around £240,000 a year and is aware he can make substantially more at White Hart Lane, however.

Several of Depay's international team-mates have sealed lucrative switches abroad already this summer.

Feyenoord have seen Daryl Janmaat join Newcastle, Stefan de Vrij leave for Lazio and Bruno Martins Indi sign for Porto. Ajax's Siem de Jong, who did not feature in Van Gaal's World Cup squad, has also moved to Tyneside while Michel Vorm swapped one Premier League club for another by leaving Swansea for Tottenham.

Depay is said to have sought advice from Robin van Persie about heading to England, with his Netherlands captain telling him his move to Arsenal from Feyenoord as a 20 year old made him the player he is.

Tottenham have already signed Ben Davies and Vorm from Swansea as well as £4m centre-back Eric Dier from Sporting Lisbon.

Pochettino is also chasing Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio and Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, who has been told he cannot join the St Mary's exodus.
