Pochettino joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer and has been tasked with getting the club back into the Champions League for the first time in four years - something which, starting this season, can be achieved by winning UEFA's secondary competition.

Spurs reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2011, but have failed to make a return to the competition despite finishing fourth in the Premier League in 2012, when Chelsea lifted the trophy and thereby denied their London rivals a play-off place.

Spurs will travel to Cyprus for the first leg on Thursday August 21, only Pochettino's second competitive match in charge, before hosting AEL at White Hart Lane a week later.

Hull will continue their maiden European campaign with a tie against KSC Lokeren.

Last season's FA Cup runners-up have been rewarded after overcoming AS Trencin in the third qualifying round.

Steve Bruce's side required a late goal from Sone Aluko in Thursday's second leg to secure their passage, and now face a trip to Belgium before welcoming back Lokeren to the KC Stadium.

Meanwhile, despite qualifying for the Champions League play-off round on Wednesday after seeing off Celtic, Legia Warsaw now find themselves taking on Aktobe in the Europa League.

Celtic were reinstated back into Europe's top club competition in place of Legia on Friday morning after the Polish side fielded an ineligible player in the third qualifying round second-leg win.
