Van Gaal is very honest, says Herrera
Manchester United's summer signing Ander Herrera says he and his new team-mates are happy to be working with manager Louis van Gaal - adding that he is comfortable to play in any position for his new club.
Herrera joined United from Athletic Bilbao for £28.8 million after activating his buy-out clause when a bid from United had earlier been rejected.
Van Gaal took charge of United at Old Trafford for the first time in the 2-1 victory over Valencia in a friendly on Tuesday, and Herrera has been full of praise for the Dutchman.
"He is our leader," Herrera told the club's official website. "We are very happy to work with him. He is very honest which is what all the players want. It's great to have a coach who is always very honest."
Herrera has already impressed for his new side during United's pre-season tour of the US and played at Old Trafford for the first time against Valencia. The 25-year-old also admits he is willing to feature in any position for United under Van Gaal.
"I can play in different positions, but I will play wherever the manager wants me to," the Spaniard said.
"I don't have a preference because I am a team player and the team is always the most important thing."
Tom Cleverley has also revealed what working under Van Gaal is like.
"It's very much pass and move, always asking for the ball, which is my game," Cleverley said on how he plays for United.
"And the manager is so clear that there can be no questions asked from our point of view. We know exactly what he wants and are confident that if we do what he wants on the pitch, we'll win."
