Hammers confident of finalising Barrera deal

West Ham have confirmed to Soccernet that they expect to sort out a work permit for Mexico winger Pablo Barrera and complete the transfer "in the next seven days".
The Hammers made their move with a £4 million bid to Barrera's club Pumas and co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have outbid Espanyol and Everton.
Pumas sporting director Mario Trejo said: "I must admit that after analysing the offers of Espanyol, West Ham and Everton, there is one that has convinced us more than the rest."
A host of clubs have been connected to the Mexican including Celtic, Spurs and even Manchester United.
