Petr Cech should be given the opportunity to fight for the No.1 goalkeeper's jersey at Chelsea, according to his agent.

Cech has lost his place as the club's first-choice shot-stopper to Thibaut Courtois, but the 32-year-old's agent hopes Chelsea give him the chance to reclaim his place.

"I would like to believe that, with regard to Petr's ten years of service for Chelsea, the club will treat him with respect and will give him a chance to fight for the No.1 position," Viktor Kolar said.

Cech, who has been the undisputed No.1 at Chelsea since signing for them in 2004, was not selected for the side's opening Premier League game at Burnley on Monday night.

Courtois, who returned to Chelsea after three years on loan at Atletico Madrid, kept goal in a 3-1 victory for Jose Mourinho's men and appears to be the manager's first choice for the season.

Mourinho explained why he picked Courtois ahead of Cech and admits he does not want Cech to leave, likening the situation to when Cech first arrived to oust Carlo Cudicini as the No.1.

The Sun reports that Courtois will be offered a "double-your-money, £60,000-a-week deal at Chelsea", keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2019, but Cech's immediate future is under the spotlight.
