Pellegrini: Jovetic deserved this game

Stevan Jovetic has warned Manchester City's Champions League rivals that they fear nobody in Thursday's upcoming group-stage draw.

City failed to get out of a difficult group in 2011-12 as well as the following season when they were matched with Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax, though did make it to the round of 16 last year where they were knocked out by Barcelona.

However, City's job should be a little easier this time around with the club named as the eighth team in Pot 2.

"We will see who we get - we are afraid of no one," said Jovetic.

"Of course it would be better if we got some of the not-so-good teams in the group, but we will play whoever we have to play.

"We have a really good team and I am enjoying playing with such good players. But we have to go step by step.

"It's too early to speak about titles or the Champions League but we are going to attack all of those. We are a good team, with good players, and we can do it."

Jovetic began putting last year's injury-hit campaign behind him by scoring twice in City's 3-1 Premier League win at home to Liverpool on Monday, and is hoping to continue in the same vein throughout the season.

"It's most important when the staff, the coach and the club president are satisfied with you," he stated. "When they believe in you, it's very important and my way of saying thank-you is to play well.

"I'm very happy because it was an important game against Liverpool and we played very well - all of the team. Of course I'm happy for my goals and hope I can continue like this."
