Newcastle poised to sign Gosling
England Under-21 international Dan Gosling is on the brink of joining Newcastle United after agreeing a four-year deal with the newly-promoted Premier League club.
Gosling left Everton for nothing earlier this month having only been offered a verbal contract and is set to net £25,000-a-week at St James Park.
Everton are not entitled to a fee as they failed to give the 20-year-old midfielder a written offer before mid-May but the Merseyside club have lodged an appeal.
Gosling, who made 10 appearances for Everton last season, also spoke to Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland and could cost Newcastle £4 million if the appeal is successful.
