City target Falcao denies Madrid tweet
Manchester City's hopes of signing Radamel Falcao appear to have faded after the Monaco striker suggested on Twitter he was close to joining Real Madrid - only to later claim he had been hacked.
Falcao, who has long been linked with a move to City, supposedly tweeted he was to join the European champions and that the move was a "dream come true."
However, the tweet was quickly deleted and the 28-year-old insisted the picture was fake and had been "photoshopped."
Falcao was left out of the manager Leonardo Jardim's squad for Monaco's 1-1 draw with Lille on Saturday, which prompted speculation the striker was set to leave the Stade Louis II.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini declined to comment on reports linking City with a loan move for Falcao before Monday's transfer deadline, following his side's shock Premier League defeat to Stoke.
Tengo que desmentir una noticia sobre un tweet que no he hecho y que es un foto montaje.— Radamel Falcao (@FALCAO) August 30, 2014
