Stambouli in, Sandro and Holtby out at Spurs

Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of Sandro from Tottenham for a fee believed to be around £6 million.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp signed the Brazilian midfielder during his days as Spurs manager, and the pair will be reunited at Loftus Road. The club also confirmed the return of Niko Kranjcar on a season-long loan from Dynamo Kiev.

"Sandro's a proper footballer and a top class professional - he's an absolutely fantastic signing for us. I couldn't be more pleased," said Redknapp.

"He's been a massive target of mine all summer, and I honestly didn't think we'd be able to pull it off. It's a real statement from the club, from the owners, to bring in a player of his undoubted ability."

Sandro said he was looking forward to his new challenge, adding: "Working with Harry again, who I share a great relationship with, is very special to me.

"Football is in my heart, and I'm very happy at this moment. I'm very pleased to be here, and I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates."

Sandro was out of favour at Spurs, whose squad was already heavy on midfielders before they added Benji Stambouli from Montpellier ahead of the deadline.

Stambouli, a defensive midfielder, has joined from Montpellier for £4.7m.

Joining Sandro on his way out of Spurs is Lewis Holtby, who has joined Hamburg on an initial loan deal.

Hamburg have the option to make the move permanent as the 23-year-old German midfielder, who has an English father, returns to the Bundesliga less than two years after his exit from Schalke.

German football weekly Kicker has reported that Spurs will pay part of the midfielder's salary as part of the agreement.

Meanwhile, Zeki Fryers has swapped North London for South London, joining Crystal Palace.
