Evaluating Liverpool's transfer window

Alberto Moreno says he had to make a point in Liverpool's Premier League victory against Tottenham last weekend and has been impressed by life at his new club - particularly with the fans.

Moreno scored Liverpool's third goal - his first in their colours - in their 3-0 win at White Hart Lane with a superb solo effort, but the left-back is hoping for more reasons to celebrate in front of Reds fans.

"If they didn't know me before, they will from now on thanks to my goal against Tottenham," Moreno told Liverpool's official club website. "I hope it isn't my only one as I hope to dedicate many more to Liverpool's fans.

"After making my debut and losing against City I had a point to make. When I stole the ball from Townsend and saw a way through, all I could think about was getting to their goal and scoring. I didn't care how many metres I had to run."

Moreno, who joined Liverpool from Sevilla this summer for a fee of £12 million, has been taken aback by the welcome he received from the club's fans.

The 22-year-old is looking forward to the return of Champions League football at Anfield and, having seen the trophy at their Melwood training base, insists his team-mates can deliver the club's sixth European title.

"You realise that it's something very different," Moreno said. "You look to the stands and they're packed. So many people singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' is incredible.

"They live for football, they're so passionate and I'm honoured to be part of the joy they feel when we win a game.

"I saw the [European] trophy at Melwood and I got goosebumps. Hopefully we can win it this year. Hopefully that day will come."
