Marcos Rojo can't wait to make his Manchester United debut after he was finally granted a work permit.

The Argentina international defender missed United's first three games of the season after signing from Sporting Lisbon as he awaited his permission for a visa.

However, the UK Border Agency confirmed on Thursday that Rojo has now been granted a work permit and he is available to play against Queens Park Rangers on September 14.

Speaking to the Argentine press, Rojo said: "I am desperate to get onto the field and play because I have not been able to step on to Old Trafford. My life has changed a lot. I am very happy to be at Manchester United, a top team in the world, sharing a dressing room with players like [Wayne] Rooney, [Robin] Van Persie, [Angel] Di María and now Falcao."

Rojo cost £16 million from Sporting Lisbon and, although he played as a left-back for Argentina as they reached the World Cup final, he is expected to line up in the centre of the United defence.

The 24-year-old is currently on international duty and played in Argentina's 4-2 win over Germany on Wednesday.

United are also waiting to see if Chris Smalling will be available against QPR after the defender sat out their last two games with a groin injury.
