De Jong out for 'months' with thigh problem

Newcastle have suffered a blow as new attacker Siem de Jong has suffered an injury that could keep him out of action until 2015..
Manager Alan Pardew spent £5 million bringing De Jong to St James' Park from Ajax during the summer, but the striker injured his thigh in training could will now miss a large chunk of the season.
A statement on Newcastle's official website read: "Siem de Jong sustained an injury to his right thigh in training earlier this week and is to be assessed further at the start of next week. Initial indications are that he is likely to be out for a number of months."

De Jong scored 57 goals in 170 league appearances for the Eredivisie club and has earned six caps for Holland.
