Ferdinand blows lid off Moyes era

Radamel Falcao says Manchester United's new-look squad still needs time to "gel" despite their emphatic 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

Louis van Gaal handed debuts to summer signings Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind, while Falcao came off the bench for his United bow with Angel Di Maria making his first appearance at Old Trafford.

Ander Herrera also returned from injury with Luke Shaw an unused substitute after his hamstring problem as he still awaits his competitive debut, but Van Gaal's new charges helped provide him with his first win this season.

"Bit by bit we will gel together as a team and the new players will feel more comfortable," Falcao said. "I hope everything continues for us like it has done today."

Falcao was denied a debut goal after a fine stop from QPR goalkeeper Robert Green, but is now hoping to break his duck when United travel to Leicester on Sunday.

"I am very happy for this victory and the support was great," Falcao added.

"I want to continue that way. I want to say thank you to them and I enjoyed that a lot, this match. It was fantastic. I almost scored. The goalkeeper was good. I hope to score the next game."

Falcao also said it was a privilege to play at Old Trafford for the first time since arriving on a season-long loan from Monaco on transfer deadline-day - just days after stating his intent to stay at United for many years.

"It felt good to make my debut here, at Old Trafford, and I am happy to get the win. I am enjoying this moment.

"It is an extraordinary stadium, a legendary stadium. I am very happy for this victory and the support was great. I want to continue that way."
