Wilshere hopeful over ankle injury

Jack Wilshere is said to be hopeful that the ankle injury he sustained against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night is not serious.
The Arsenal midfielder, according to the Daily Mirror, may struggle to be fit to face Aston Villa on Saturday but is optimistic he will not be sidelined long-term.
Manager Arsene Wenger, however, was last night awaiting medical assessments and refused to make any judgement before receiving the results.
He said: "Wilshere turned his [right] ankle. It's difficult to say how bad it is because I am a bit cautious. Normally it's not very bad but, because of his history, I'm a bit cautious."
Wilshere was hurt in the 84th minute of Arsenal's 2-0 defeat in Germany but had to complete the game because Wenger had used all his substitutes.
Wilshere, 22, has endured a series of injury problems during his relatively short career and underwent surgery on his right ankle in September 2011 after suffering a stress fracture during a pre-season match against New York Red Bulls.
He was initially ruled out for up to five months before suffering a setback with a stress fracture in his right foot in January the following year.
Further combinations of minor foot and heel injuries meant he missed England's Euro 2012 campaign and Team GB's Olympic squad.
Wilshere then missed six weeks of Arsenal's title run-in during the 2013-14 season because of a hairline fracture in his left foot.
