Didier Drogba's agent has claimed Manchester City have made contact over a move for the striker.

Drogba, 32, has been linked with a switch to Eastlands on numerous occasions throughout the summer, although the Daily Mail says City have denied claims they are looking to agree a deal.

Drogba has often spoken of his love for former club Marseille, but his agent, Thierno Seydi, has played down the prospect of a return and instead claimed City are the only club to have made any attempt to prise the player away from Stamford Bridge.

"Didier has always said he dreams of finishing his career at Marseille but, between his dreams and reality, there is a gap," Seydi told Radio Monte Carlo. "What is certain is that, for now, he is very happy at Chelsea."

Asked if he had received a lot of offers, he replied: "Strangely, that is not the case. There are only two or three clubs that could interest Didier. We speak about Marseille a lot because they are in his heart. If Marseille want Didier, maybe they can call me, but nobody has done yet."

He added: "Today he's at Chelsea. Maybe there will be surprises before August 31. The only contact I've had directly was with City, but getting Drogba out of Chelsea is not an easy task because he has all the conditions he needs to flourish there.

"At his age, I can no longer hide the financial aspect. The club that want Didier will have to meet the price."
