Arsene Wenger admitted his worry that Arsenal are now 11 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League title race after his team could only draw 2-2 with Hull thanks to an injury time equaliser from Danny Welbeck.

"I cannot say it is not a concern because the other team win their games and we don't," said Wenger. Chelsea won 2-1 at Crystal Palace and Arsenal are back in sixth after a match in which they dominated possession but struggled against a well-organised Hull team.

"We had 80% possession and we got a point," said Wenger. "It is a very disappointing result. We absolutely could have won this game."

Though he was angry with referee Roger East for allowing Mo Diame to equalise after a clash with Mathieu Flamini and level Alexis Sanchez's opener, Wenger laid the blame squarely at his defence for Abel Hernandez's goal after 32 seconds of the second half.

"We were unlucky with the referee on the first goal, and the second goal we can only blame ourselves," said the Frenchman. "We lost focus and gave them the lead straight away after half-time. I cannot fault the effort and the heart bit the defensive concentration was missing. You cannot afford to give away goals like that.

"The performance was better than the result indicates and in the last five minutes we created three or four clear cut chances. It's difficult against teams who are physically strong. They were well organised, it was ten against ten in the second half."

When Jack Wilshere left the field with what looked a twisted knee, there were worries over a serious injury but Wenger allayed fears, saying: "Jack is well .

"If selected, yes," he replied when asked if Wilshere might be able to play against Benfica in next week's Champions League match.

Hull manager Steve Bruce was disappointed to only leave London with a single point. "You're satisfied with the point but that's four times this season we've conceded in the last minute," he said.

"To come and here and play like thar shows the strides we've made. We're disappointed that we could only come away with a point from Arsenal. I've come here in the past and had their reserve team beat us five and six."

A ruptured bicep for goalkeeper Steve Harper had sub keeper Eldin Jakupovic on as his replacement. With usual first-choice Allan McGregor already on the injury list with a shoulder injury, Bruce admitted he would have to recall Mark Oxley from loan at Hibernian in Scotland's Championship.
