Pellegrini wants new Manchester City contract
Manuel Pellegrini says he wants to stay at Manchester City and extend his contract with the Premier League champions.
The City manager, along with CEO Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain, who are both former Barcelona employees, have been linked with the Nou Camp given the institutional turmoil surrounding the club.
But while Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is under pressure after a reported row with Lionel Messi, Pellegrini insists he does not want to replace him.

"I am very happy here and I hope I will continue. I have a contract this year and one year more," said Pellegrini, who joined City in 2013 on a three-year deal and won the League Cup and the Premier League title in his first season in Manchester.
Meanwhile, Pellegrini says City can comply with Financial Fair Play rules if they sign Wilfried Bony from Swansea because of the funds they will receive for selling Alvaro Negredo.
The Spain international will sign a permanent deal with Valencia in the summer worth £23.5 million to the Premier League champions, who are limited to a £49m net spend this season as part of their punishment from UEFA for breaching FFP regulations.
"We sell already Alvaro Negredo so we have some money to spend," said Pellegrini.
"We are going to replace Alvaro Negredo because it was the decision that we took in the moment we sold him. We need another striker so we are going to find which is the best player to bring in."
Pellegrini also accepted Matija Nastasic and Scott Sinclair could leave the Etihad Stadium in the January transfer window.
Schalke have made an approach for centre-back Nastasic while winger Sinclair is a reported target for Aston Villa.
"We will see if there are good offers for them and for the club," he added. "If not, they stay here. They are working with us without any problem."
