Terry: Most I did against Swansea was clap our forwards
John Terry admits the most amount of work he did during Chelsea's 5-0 hammering of Swansea was clapping the players in front of him.
Jose Mourinho's side produced a stunning display of attacking football to keep the home side on what was captain Terry's 649th Chelsea appearance - therefore taking him past Frank Lampard into third on the club's record appearance list.
Terry said after their victory: "In the first half some of our football, and the goals especially, was some of the best I've seen.
"Me and Gaz [Cahill] felt we weren't doing anything, just applauding what was happening in front of us. It was an absolute delight to see and I really hope we can continue it."
Coupled with Manchester City's defeat to Arsenal, Chelsea's triumph in Wales saw them move five points clear at the top of the Premier League. Up next is a tricky League Cup semi-final first leg away to Liverpool on Tuesday followed by an FA Cup fourth round clash with Bradford on Saturday.
And with Chelsea still challenging for four trophies, Terry believes the hard work is only just beginning for his team-mates.
He added: "Once again we have top, top players but until we go and win things we are not there yet. That will be the test. We have shown in the first half of the season we are capable of pushing the top sides.
"The motivation now in the dressing room is to win the league, push on in the League Cup and then the FA Cup and Champions League.
"At this stage of the season, to still be in all four competitions is where we want to be. It is now down to us big players to stand up and let everyone else decide, when we have won stuff, that we are a good side."
Manager Jose Mourinho could recall goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to his starting line-up for the first leg at Anfield. Courtois is firmly installed as Mourinho's No.1 but he has been on the bench for the last three matches after suffering a thumb injury.
Petr Cech has stepped up to stand in for the Belgium international for the wins over Watford, Newcastle United and Swansea - through which Chelsea have not conceded a goal.
Courtois has not been part of the matchday squad in any of the previous rounds of the competition, with Cech starting the matches against Bolton Wanderers, Shrewsbury Town and Derby County.
But Mourinho could decide to recall his first-choice goalkeeper with a place at Wembley against either Tottenham Hotspur or Sheffield United at stake. Cesar Azpilicueta [groin] is likely to miss out, whilst the likes of Kurt Zouma, Loic Remy and Andre Schurrle will be hoping for rare starts.
